How to Post Something via Indian Post / Courier?

Trust me, I really don't know how to send a Registered Post or Speed Post. If there is no content of Post Cards during my childhood lessons, May be i don't know about Ordinary post today! For god's sake, I know about the one :P I hope there are lots like me , If you are the one let's proceed to know ;) Indian Postal services are the 2nd biggest employment handler in India. There are 3 types of Postal Services available as of now. Let's read on to know How to Post something Via Post/Courier.

Types of Postal Services in India:

  1. Ordinary Post
  2. Registered Post
  3. Speed Post

Needed Things to Post:

  • An Envelope cover (Size based on your letter, Available at local Kirana shops / Book Stalls, Even in villages) or Packed (If objects).
  • A Stamp (In-case of Ordinary Post only!)
A Post-Box

1. Ordinary Post:

Ordinary Post is nothing but the PostCards/Letters/Envelops that we drop in surrounding Post boxes. For ordinary post you must affix a Postal Stamp on theLetter/Envelop, Based on the size [In case of Post Cards, you don't need to affix a Stamp, because The card itself contains the stamp and you can directly drop them in Post Boxes).   • Simply write the matter on Post Card or on a paper and insert in an envelope and close it with Gum or Staple Pins.
  • Now, Affix a Stamp (Not applicable for Post Cards) and write TO address with Name, H.No, C/O, Street, Landmark, Village, Mandal, District & Pincode and drop it in the nearby Post Box. That's it. Your post will reach the destination based on area and distance.
If you don't affix stamp it will delivered but the charge will be received at recipient.







Envelops





2. Registered Post:

Registered Post is similar to Ordinary Post with Additional facilities. For those, You have to pay (Very low amount)!

Benefits:

Registered Post will be delivered to the receipient usually within 1-3 days. At the time of delivery, The postalman will take the receipient signature and contact details for any future clarifications.

3. EMS Speed Post:

The name defines it. It delivers very fast, usually delivers within a week allover the world. However, It may take upto 15 days sometimes. Currently, Indian Postal is delivering this Service in association with EMS.
