How to Disable WhatsApp Blue Ticks (Read Receipts)

Recently, WhatsApp introduced a new feature to it's messenger "Read Receipts". It's just nothing but Facebook Messenger's "seen" concept. If the other person received and read our message, The gray double tick marks turns into Blue. Surprisingly lots of people appreciated and in the same manner some are worrying!
      Don't worry! WhatsApp recently gave an update to disable these "Read Receipts". Here we are presenting the beta version of WhatsApp for those who still didn't received an update and want to disable the read receipts. Let's follow the procedure!

How to Disable WhatsApp Read Receipts?

  • Check for the update in Play Store and update to the latest version.
The update is currently available for few countries only. If you're unable to get the latest update, You've to wait. If you wanna disable immediately, you can download the APK file from this link and install: http://goo.gl/UXOxqP
  • Now, open WhatsApp and go to Settings tab and go to Account > Privacy and scroll down to see the see the Read Receipts option. Untick it to Disable the Read Receipts. Whenever you wish to Enable, You can tick!
  • After disabling "Read Receipts", let's test! Receive messages from anyone and they can't see the Blue Ticks eventhough you read! You're all done.
  • The bad thing is, As per WhatsApp terms & conditions:
If you turn off read receipts, you won't be able to see read receipts from other people. Read receipts are always sent for group chats
  • And here is the screenshot. Here you can see at the ending. The other contact read my message and gave a reply. Still the tick marks are in black and for the other person too!
